Alta Peruvian Lodge’s rustic, mountain venue is perfect for the laid-back couple looking to create a completely customized experience. About Alta Peruvian Lodge
Alta Peruvian Lodge was originally used as nurse’s barracks during World War II before relocating to the mountains of Little Cottonwood Canyon where is reopened for the 1948 ski season.
The Alta Peruvian Lodge is about 45 minutes away from the Salt Lake International Airport in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Snowbird is one mile away from the lodge and offers a variety of year-round activities. Mount Superior is also nearby and recommended by the lodge for a day trip.
Alta Peruvian Lodge offers a flat-rate fee and ability to fully customize your wedding with zero vendor restrictions.
The total cost for rental of the Alta Peruvian Lodge is $5,000 and includes week-early access to the venue to set up and decorate.
Payment and Deposit
A nonrefundable $2,500 deposit is required to reserve your date. The remaining $2,500 is due 30 days prior to the event.
Alta Peruvian Lodge hosts ceremonies and receptions from June through September at multiple sites, both indoors and outdoors. The lodge is not in use during the summer months, and weddings can access additional space throughout the lodge (such as the lobby).
The dining room, Alf Engen reception room and outdoor grounds are available to use for both ceremonies and receptions. Ceremonies are commonly held outside on the pool deck or in the backyard, and receptions typically take place inside.
The Alta Peruvian Lodge can host up to 200 guests.
Weddings per Week
Alta Peruvian Lodge only hosts one wedding per week, allowing that week’s couple plenty of time to set up.
Time and Noise Restrictions
While there is a town ordinance that restricts noise after 11 p.m., most receptions are held inside and can go later.
Alta Peruvian Lodge is a historic lodge with accessibility challenges; please contact the venue directly to further discuss how to accommodate all guests.
The lodge is located on a protected watershed that does not allow pets.
Wedding Catering and Lodging
Alta Peruvian Lodge offers endless flexibility with zero vendor restrictions and ample lodging nearby.
> The bride and groom may hire any caterer of their choice. Use of the kitchen is available, including refrigerators, prep tables, sinks and an ice machine.
> A licensed bartender must serve all alcoholic drinks. Kegs must be purchased through the lodge or an authorized caterer.

Lodging is available at nearby Snowbird. There are also many condos and homes in the area available for rent.
> The Peruvian Lodge is available the week before the wedding for setup and decoration.
> Chairs and tables are included with the rental of the lodge, and complimentary setup and teardown are offered.
> Changing rooms are available for the bride and groom.
In-house Wedding Planner and Day-of Coordinator
The lodge does not offer an in-house wedding planner but does provide day-of staff to help with event layout and setup.
