Amangiri is one of the highest-end hotels in the Intermountain West, sitting on its own in the southern Utah desert. The architecture draws on the landscape in a way that no other hotel does. The ceremony sites here are rock alcoves and open desert floor, one of them at the base of a 600-foot mesa, and after dark there’s almost no light pollution to compete with the stars.
Typically people have small weddings here rather than big ones, and the resort itself recommends it. Getting married here isn’t booking a venue for an afternoon. Everyone you invite stays on the property, every plate of food comes from the resort, and for as long as you’re there the desert around it is effectively yours. The cost is high and the payoff is big.
If you want the desert to yourself and you’re planning around a guest list that stays small, Amangiri is built for that.

Amangiri Wedding Info
Amangiri translates to “peaceful mountain.” It sits more than two hours from the nearest city, on the Colorado Plateau, and it runs as a full-service resort rather than a venue you rent and fill yourself. A buyout of either the main resort or Camp Sarika means yours is the only group on the property.
Ceremony Sites at Amangiri
The Fireside Pavilion is an open-air space beside the main pool with a large fire pit at its center, set up for cocktails or a small ceremony of up to 40. The Amphitheater is a natural rock alcove at the base of a 600-foot mesa. At Camp Sarika, Saddle Landing holds 100 standing for a ceremony or cocktails, which makes it the largest outdoor space at either property.
Amangiri has also described a helicopter trip to a secluded mesa and a bluff above Lake Powell as ceremony settings. Neither is itemized on the resort’s current celebrations page, so confirm what’s still on offer when you inquire.
There are no indoor backup spaces. The resort’s guidance has been that groups plan and budget for a tent if they want cover.
Reception Spaces at Amangiri
The Dining Room & Patio at the main resort seats 76 for a private family-style dinner and holds 110 standing for cocktails. The Desert Lounge is used for cocktails at sunset and for dinner under the stars; no capacity is published for it.
The Chinle Site, a short drive, hike or horseback ride out from the resort, holds 35 seated or 50 standing and is set up for a barbecue with Navajo storytelling.
Camp Sarika has its own set of smaller spaces: a private Dining Room & Patio for up to 20, a Pool Terrace seating up to 40, an Amphitheatre for up to 30 at cocktails, and Raven’s Nest, a dinner spot on the desert floor a short hike or ride from the main pavilion, seating 20 or holding 30 standing.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
Every guest at an Amangiri wedding is a guest of the resort. There’s no day-guest option, so your guest list and your room block are the same list. A full resort buyout has carried a three-night minimum, and any private stay at Camp Sarika carries the same.
There are 34 suites at the main resort, a six-bedroom villa on its own nine-acre plot with a private pool, spa, gym, chef and host, and 10 tented pavilions at Camp Sarika, each with its own pool. No dedicated getting-ready room is named on the resort’s site, and couples staying multiple nights get ready in their suite.
Amangiri runs complimentary transfers between the resort and the airport in Page, Arizona, and arranges check-in and check-out around flights. Parking on the property is valet only.
Between the ceremony and the flights home there’s an Aman Spa, a pool, daily fitness classes and guided hikes, more than 12 miles of trails on the property, and Lake Powell and the hike out to Skylight Arch beyond the resort grounds. The desert setting means very little light pollution, and Amangiri has pointed couples toward their wedding night’s stars as one of the property’s own draws.
Catering & Vendors at Amangiri
All food and drink comes from Amangiri, with an emphasis on local sourcing, and outside catering isn’t allowed apart from some kosher accommodations. The resort is licensed to serve alcohol.
Amangiri has said couples don’t need much decor here — the desert is the backdrop and the resort is already appointed, and the resort can provide a list of vendors familiar with the site. The resort has said it’s open to discussing other outside vendors, though anyone you bring, from florists to DJs, is making a substantial trip to get there and most will price travel into the bid.
Two policies matter to whoever is shooting your day. Drones are prohibited anywhere on the property. Professional photography needs written consent from the resort in advance, which means giving Amangiri your photographer’s name before you arrive so they can sign the resort’s photography agreement. Every adult in the party also signs a release at check-in, and guests are asked to be thoughtful about what they post from the property.
Amangiri Wedding Cost
Amangiri doesn’t publish a wedding rate card. Pricing comes back as a custom quote once you tell the resort what you have in mind. The last figure we had for a room was $3,500 a night, in 2023, and we’re working on getting couples something more current.
Figures as high as $700,000 have circulated for a full wedding here, but that isn’t a number the resort publishes, so ask them rather than budget against it.
Camp Sarika is the one place Amangiri does put a number in writing. Its own brochure estimates $450,000 for a three-night stay and wedding itinerary for 30 guests across the 10 tented pavilions.
That covers private transfers from the Page airport, full board with non-alcoholic drinks, a spa treatment and an outdoor activity for every guest, a dining experience each evening and a stargazing night. Alcohol and anything added on top move the total, which the brochure says plainly.
Two things shape the real number more than the venue line does. Catering is exclusive to the resort, so the site and the food arrive on one quote rather than two. And because every guest has to sleep on the property for a minimum stay, the room block is part of the wedding budget rather than something your guests sort out themselves.
What to Know Before You Book Amangiri
The photography agreement is worth handling early. Amangiri wants a photographer’s name before the wedding and has them sign a document in advance, and drones are off the table completely. That’s a booking-week conversation, not a wedding-week one.
Plan travel time into the day itself. The Chinle Site and Raven’s Nest are the two settings that look least like a hotel, and both are a drive, a hike or a horseback ride out from where everyone is staying. That’s a wonderful problem to have and a real one to schedule around.
The other thing to sit with is the guest count. The main resort holds 110 and Camp Sarika holds 30, but those are technical ceilings, not the venue’s own guidance. Amangiri recommends keeping a wedding to 30–40 guests at most. A wedding here is a small group in an enormous landscape, which is a very specific kind of day and worth wanting on purpose.
