Church and State is an eclectic wedding venue in Salt Lake City. Housed in a former church that is now a startup incubator this venue has a vintage feel that comes from the 1960’s stained glass windows and woodwork.

Church and State is an amazing space that combines the bones of a mid-century modern church, with the aesthetics of a modern loft space, and the funky furnishings of your favorite coffee shop. It is a large and open venue with tall vaulted ceilings and plenty of room for your celebration.

Wedding Ceremony Sites
At Church and State weddings take place in front of large stained-glass windows in the chapel setting with red brick walls and exposed arched beams.
Wedding Reception Site
There are two reception spaces at Church and State. After your ceremony, you and your guests can adjourn to the modern, sleek space known as 1893 for cocktails while the ceremony site in the chapel is reconfigured for your reception with space for dinner and dancing.
If your wedding is taking place at another location, the chapel is the primary reception space.

Church and State gives the feeling of a church without actually having to have your wedding in a church. Also, the furnishings provided include leather sofas, barn wood tables, Persian rugs, and other shabby chic items.

The chapel can accommodate up to 350 guests. 1893 can accommodate up to 150 guests.

The location of Church and State is a big draw. It is in downtown Salt Lake City and very close to TRAX. It is roughly 15 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport.

One wedding is hosted on-site each day.

The rental cost for the venue is $2,300 for six hours starting at 4 PM or $6,500 for a 12-hour rental.

What are the included decor options and restrictions?
Included in the rental are a number of couches, coffee tables, chairs, rugs, tables, chairs, and bistro lighting. Other tables and chairs can be rented from the facility.

Church and State is in downtown Salt Lake with dozens of lodging options nearby. The closest hotels include Grand America, the Marriott City Center, and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco.
Is there an in-house wedding planner or day-of coordinator?
There is an in-house coordinator to help with any questions related to the venue.
What are some nearby attractions?
Church and State is located near the downtown Salt Lake City Library and the Leonardo Art and Science Museum. If you don’t mind taking a short walk Gilgal Gardens are not far and truly an amazing “only in Utah” place to see.
