High Star Ranch is closed as a wedding venue. The DeJoria Center, the event building the whole wedding program ran through, shut for good on December 31, 2024, along with the State Road Tavern and Restaurant and the Country Store and Café. Every wedding booked for 2025 and later was cancelled and every deposit returned. New owners bought the ranch in July 2025 with a hotel-led redevelopment in mind, and no date has been set for weddings coming back.
If what you wanted was a ranch wedding in this stretch of country, with a guest list in the hundreds and more than one space to move it through, there are three places to look.
The Lodge at Blue Sky is a 4,000-acre ranch resort in Wanship, about 20 minutes from Kamas, and its Arena seats 325, so it takes a High Star-sized guest list without anyone standing outside.
Jordanelle State Park Hailstone Event Center sits above the reservoir about 10 miles from Park City and holds up to 500 across its indoor and outdoor spaces together, which is the closest thing nearby to the indoor-and-outdoor arrangement High Star ran.
River Bottoms Ranch is a white barn on the Provo River in Midway, and it is the nearest match for the dance-barn half of what High Star was.

High Star Ranch Wedding Quick Facts

Ceremony Sites at High Star Ranch
Ceremonies were on a lawn under a willow tree the venue called the wedding tree, with a brook running past it and a pond nearby.
Reception Spaces at High Star Ranch
Receptions went one of two ways. Outside, there was an open-air dance barn, a converted hay barn on the property. Inside, the Willow Meeting Room ran 2,078 square feet and seated 160 for a banquet, and it doubled as the weather backup.
The State Road Tavern and Restaurant was part of the property too, with nearly 2,000 square feet inside, a 4,000-square-foot patio off it, a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows. It closed alongside the rest of the venue. There were outdoor restrooms on site as well.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
Getting-ready rooms for both parties came free with the booking, and the site fee bundled in a bridal suite along with chairs, tables, china, flatware, glassware, linens, parking, setup and cleanup.
There was never lodging on the property. Park City, about 25 minutes out, was the nearest place to put a guest list.
Nearby Attractions
High Star Ranch sat close to a cluster of recreation: the Uinta National Forest, Rockport State Park and the Jordanelle Reservoir were all nearby, and the ranch itself offered mountain biking, hiking, fly-fishing clinics, snowshoeing, horseback riding and hunting.
Catering & Vendors at High Star Ranch
Catering was in house, and bringing an outside caterer instead carried a fee. There was a full bar with alcohol bought through the venue, and a setup charge for each bar, indoor or outdoor.
High Star Ranch didn’t make wedding cakes, and charged a per-guest fee to cut and serve one brought in. Rehearsal dinners were available too, for an added food-and-beverage minimum or site fee.
Couples had to hire their own planner or coordinator, and the venue put a supplementary coordinator on the day as well. High Star Ranch took one wedding a day.

What to Know About High Star Ranch Right Now
The DeJoria Center closed on December 31, 2024, and took the wedding program with it. The State Road Tavern and Restaurant and the Country Store and Café closed the same day. KPCW reported it that November, and the venue’s general manager pointed to the cost of running a building that size.
The four weddings already on the 2024 calendar went ahead as planned. Everything booked for 2025 and beyond was cancelled, with deposits returned.
High Star Ventures LLC bought the property on July 16, 2025. That October the site still wasn’t hosting events or weddings. One of the new owners told the Kamas City Council later that month that the event center is what drives the hotel they’re planning, rather than the other way around, which reads as intent to run it again eventually.
The most recent reporting covers financing for a hotel of up to 150 units plus homes and retail. There’s nothing in it about an events business and no reopening date.
One practical note if you’re trying to reach anyone from the old operation. The ranch’s own website no longer resolves to a site of its own: every address on highstarranch.com now lands on a domain-parking page, and dejoriacenter.com is down as well. Local news is a better source on where the property actually stands than anything still carrying the venue’s name.
