Cozy cuddles, cooking together, postcards in the background— it’s your home. I love in-home sessions because they are rife with meaning when couples look back at their engagement photos years later.

This little apartment that Alex & Barton shared will forever be remembered because of this engagement shoot, and they can share the photos with their kids down the line. They spend a lot of time reading books in their living room, conversing on their bed, and cooking meals together, so the scene was set for me to document their lives!

While I love adventurous engagements and mountains, mountains, mountains, the first thing I suggest to couples when they inquire about an engagement session is to pick a place that has meaning for them. Sometimes it’s a trail on a mountain bike, sometimes it’s a city cafe, and sometimes it’s their first home together. So before you book an engagement session, give this some thought, then let’s not only make awesome-looking images, but powerful ones!
