We asked the couple to share some of their memories from their beautiful wedding day.

Why did you decide to have a July Wedding at Snowbird?

We had just moved to Utah for Maddy’s medical school. We had been looking at places in Chicago where we lived before but visited Snowbird to see a local place. We loved the scenery and they provided a lot of services like catering, cake, etc.

What was your favorite moment?

The reception with family and friends and being able to dance with everyone. We also had guests who we had not seen in years so it was great to get to see them and catch up with them.

Describe the overall mood or theme (ex: classic, color palette, modern, boho)

What were the highlights of your ceremony?

The speakers. Having our moms doing the readings was very meaningful for the both of us. Also, the view was amazing. Andres laughing during the vows was a highlight for him, he loved it.

What were the highlights of your reception at your July Wedding at Snowbird?

The dancing. From dancing with our parents to our first dance to tearing up the dance floor with everyone attending.

Were any ethnic, religious, cultural, or family traditions included in your day?

Ukrainian bridal crown (Maddy), Episcopalian ceremony (Maddy), Tres Leches Wedding Cake (Andres), mixing the music with English and Spanish music.

Any planning or wedding-day advice for future couples?

Book Austen as a photographer. If staying at a hotel, write an itinerary for bridal with the day of preparation schedule and people’s phone numbers.

How was the overall experience of your planning? Also, the highs and lows?

Planning was pretty smooth. Getting the vendors was very exciting and getting to meet with them and envisioning our wedding day was a definite high. The low was probably the stress of getting everything coordinated with the venue’s wedding manager, especially on the day of the wedding.

Read Their 5-Star Wedding Photography Review:

We looked at about 10 portfolios that of photographers our venue had worked with and Austen was the second one we looked at. Right away we were very impressed with the type of pictures he took; all the vendors had beautiful portraits and some had some more pictures that looked like works of art but were not necessarily the subject of their wedding. Austen captured the feel of the day and included pictures of all the guests having a good time and made them look good and that was very important to us.

Since our first call with him, we felt like he was the right person for us since he made us feel very comfortable and someone who we would want around us on our special day.

On the day of our wedding he was the best and went above and beyond photographer duties helping us with time management and working along with the DJ to make sure all cues were being hit on time but also not rushing us.

The pictures turned out amazing and we have some beautiful memories to look back to thanks to Austen. Every single one of our guests complimented him on the great job he did.” – Andres
