La Caille is a one-of-a-kind mountain estate at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, known for its old-world European elegance and manicured grounds. Vineyards, reflecting pools, winding brick paths and roaming peacocks make the place feel transportive without booking a flight to France.
Looking through the vineyard toward the mouth of the canyon puts the mountains behind the day, and it comes with fine dining and the feel of a French estate. If you want a day that doesn’t look like anywhere else in the valley, it’s worth the tour.
La Caille Wedding Quick Facts

Ceremony Sites at La Caille
There are three ceremony settings at La Caille. The Vineyard Lawn puts you out among the estate’s working vineyard, planted in 1986. The Canyon View Patio is outdoors by the water, looking up the canyon. The Greenhouse Atrium is indoor glass and works year-round, which makes it both a rain plan and a winter ceremony site in its own right.
Smaller weddings get a fourth option. The Glass House at Les Secrets holds up to 50 guests and is 21 and over.
Reception Spaces at La Caille
The Greenhouse Atrium seats up to 250 guests under 20-foot vaulted ceilings. The Vineyard Lawn runs over 10,000 square feet and holds up to 600 for a seated reception, which is the real ceiling at La Caille if your guest list is long.
For a small wedding, the Château itself hosts up to 80 guests across two dining rooms and two living rooms. The Lounge and Canyon Patio book on their own, separate from the larger Vineyard Venues package, for 20 to 60 guests. Those two only take bookings within six months of the date, so they suit a short planning window rather than a long one.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
A getting-ready suite is available on site from 10 a.m. the day of the event.
There are three lodging properties on the grounds: the four-bedroom Château, the one-bedroom Cabin and the studio Cottage, the last two with private hot tubs and fireplaces. Check-in is 3 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m. Off the property, La Caille has pointed couples toward Snowbird and Alta up Little Cottonwood Canyon, and the Hyatt Regency and Residence Inn in Cottonwood Heights.
Rentals run 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with cleanup required to be finished by 11:59 p.m. Valet parking is required, billed by the hour per valet and priced under Wedding Cost below.
Peacocks, swans and ducks live on the grounds and wander where they like. Worth knowing if that’s the sort of thing you want in your photos, and worth knowing if it isn’t.
If you’re planning a portrait session at La Caille on a day other than your wedding, the terms are tighter than you’d expect. Bookings are taken only up to one month ahead, no photographer is included, there’s no indoor access, and the grounds immediately around the Château are off limits, with a trespassing fine listed under Wedding Cost below.
Couples marrying at La Caille have separately been offered a complimentary three-hour portrait session on the grounds on a different day, usable up to a year after the wedding — a different, less restrictive arrangement than the general policy above. Confirm whether it’s still part of the package when you book, since it sits apart from La Caille’s stricter published terms for outside sessions.
Catering & Vendors at La Caille
Weddings at La Caille run through the venue’s own exclusive catering partners. La Caille says so directly and doesn’t publish which companies those are, so getting that list is a tour question. Bar service has run the same way, through La Caille or its catering partners. Separately, La Caille’s in-house culinary team caters corporate events directly, from dinners for two up to gatherings of 500.
A preferred-vendor list applies to your other wedding vendors, and outside florists carry a fee, priced under Wedding Cost below.
There’s a winery and a package agency on the property, so wine under the estate’s own label can be part of the day.
La Caille Wedding Cost
La Caille doesn’t publish wedding pricing on its own site. Inquiries route through a booking form instead.
The last published rate structure for La Caille, from 2023, broke the year into a high season (December, January and April through October) and a low season (February, March and November). In the high season, a Monday-through-Thursday rental ran $14,000, a Sunday ran $16,000, and a Friday or Saturday ran $18,000. In the low season, a Monday-through-Thursday rental ran $12,000, and a Friday or Saturday ran $18,000.
Current wedding-vendor guides put the range differently, starting at $8,000 for an off-season weekday and reaching $20,000 for a peak-season Saturday, May through October. Those figures come from third-party vendor guides rather than La Caille itself, so treat them as a second data point rather than the more reliable number.
Catering is not in either figure. It runs through La Caille’s exclusive partners and is priced separately, which means the rental figure is a starting point rather than a budget. Valet is required on top, at $30 an hour per valet, and outside florists carry a $250 fee.
One more figure worth knowing before you book a separate portrait session on the grounds: trespassing on the Château property carries fines of up to $1,500.
What to Know Before You Book La Caille
The vineyard is the draw for photos at La Caille. Shooting through it toward the mouth of the canyon gives a view that doesn’t show up anywhere else down in the valley, and it doesn’t look like the rest of Utah.
La Caille reads as mountain-adjacent. Couples get the canyon behind the estate without the drive or elevation of an actual mountain venue, and on top of that there’s the fine dining and the feel of a French estate.
That combination is a strong fit for some couples and not for others. Couples who want it tend to know it already.
