The Lodge at Blue Sky is one of Utah’s most visually striking and thoughtfully executed wedding venues, 4,000 private acres of ranch outside Park City where the land is the only thing in view. It’s modern western done well, and the buildings do most of the talking.
The Arena is 8,000 square feet of rebuilt riding arena, put back together out of recycled local barn wood. An 1800s cabin sits at the edge of a high-alpine field, and two yurts on the mountaintop look out over the valley and the peaks behind it. Here’s what it takes to book one.

Location — The Lodge at Blue Sky is a 4,000-acre ranch resort in Wanship, along Alexander Creek, 19 miles and 30 minutes from Park City Mountain Resort and 43 miles and 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport.

Lodging — There are 46 guestrooms and suites at Blue Sky, and every wedding has to contract a room block.
Coordinator — You have to hire your own planner for a Blue Sky wedding and have them on at least 3 months out, and the venue assigns a dedicated event manager on top of that.
Accessibility — The Arena is ADA accessible, and Blue Sky publishes an accessible route from the main entrance to the lodge event spaces, accessible guestrooms with 32-inch doorways, and accessible transportation on advance notice; the outdoor ceremony sites aren’t covered either way, so ask about those specifically.
Pets — Dogs are welcome at the hotel at $80 per pet per night, 2 pets and 80 pounds each at most, and pit bulls aren’t permitted.
Curfew — Blue Sky has run a midnight curfew. Confirm the current cutoff when you book.

Ceremony Sites at The Lodge at Blue Sky
There are three outdoor ceremony sites. The Arena terrace sits in low mountains, scrub oak and pine, with the sky as the main event. The Arena lawn is the greener of the two, closed in by trees and planting. The Tavern lawn is a high-alpine meadow with aspens and wildflowers around it, next to an original 1800s cabin, and it’s open May through September.
Two mountaintop yurts overlook the valley and the peaks behind it, seating 14 inside and 25 out, 50 for a standing cocktail set across both. That’s a guest-count decision you make early rather than a rain plan you fall back on.
Ceremonies can also be held indoors in The Arena. If you’re under 50 guests, a wedding arbor is included in the fee.
Reception Spaces at The Lodge at Blue Sky
The Arena is the main reception room, 8,000 square feet, built out of the original indoor riding arena with recycled local barn wood. It takes 300 seated with a dance floor, 325 seated without one, and 400 for cocktails.
The Terrace holds 300 for cocktails and carries no seated-dinner number, so treat it as a ceremony and cocktail space. The Remuda is a 36,000-square-foot indoor riding arena, its name a Spanish term for a gathering of horses, and it opens up for the largest events. The smaller rooms run YUTA at 65, The Bar at 60, the Wine Room at 50 and the Private Dining Room at 25.

Tables, chairs, table settings, extra lounge furniture, bars, whiskey barrels, barnwood screens, event setup and breakdown, event staffing and guest transport are all in the venue fee. Certain packages come with a private lounge space.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
A private getting-ready space is available to the couple from 8 a.m. on the day, with a full-length mirror and good light.
Room finishes can change between seasons, so confirm current amenities when you book. Check-in for overnight guests is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at noon. A contracted room block is required for every wedding, so lodging is a planning input rather than an afterthought.
46 rooms won’t hold a 300-guest wedding, and Park City has the overflow, from the Waldorf Astoria and Montage Deer Valley down to the Best Western Landmark Plus, the DoubleTree and the Hyatt Centric.
Transport from the hotel to the event site is included for guests staying overnight, and it matters more here than at a single-building venue. The spaces are spread across 4,000 acres and nobody is walking between them. Parking is valet only, and private airport transfers from Salt Lake City run year-round by arrangement on the local line.
Blue Sky is one of the only Utah venues offering a heli-wedding. You fly out with your officiant and 1 or 2 guests, say your vows somewhere secluded, and come back for dinner in a yurt. It’s priced on inquiry.
Guests with time on their hands have horseback riding, fly fishing, yoga, alpine art classes and a children’s club on site. Off the property, there’s historic Main Street in Park City, the Utah Olympic Park, a venue from the 2002 Winter Olympics, and Park City Mountain Resort for winter and summer activities.
Catering & Vendors at The Lodge at Blue Sky
Catering is in house and farm to table, built around produce grown on the property in Gracie’s Garden alongside food from local farms. For parties up to 30 guests you offer a choice of three pre-selected main courses, for a charge, on a four-course minimum. Events over 30 also select three mains. China, glassware, silverware, napkins and event staffing come with the fee.
Furniture, tables, chairs, linens and tableware are provided. Anything else, flowers included, you bring in. Confetti and sparklers aren’t allowed.
There’s no preferred vendor list published, so ask on the first call whether one exists.

For 50 guests and up it’s exclusive use of the spaces you’ve picked, custom farm tables, white-washed cross-back dining chairs, Restoration Hardware lounge furniture, bars, whiskey barrels, barnwood screens and room dividers, china, glassware, silverware and napkins, event setup and breakdown, event staffing, and transport from the hotel to the event site for anyone staying overnight.
Under 50 guests, a wedding arbor is included instead. Certain packages add a private lounge, and a dedicated event manager comes with the booking.
The costs sitting outside that fee are the ones to plan around. A planner is required and you hire and pay that person yourself. A contracted room block is required, so room revenue is part of the deal either way.
Rooms carry a 10% resort gratuity on top of the room rate, though there’s no separate resort fee, and spa services carry a 20% service charge. Dogs are $80 per pet per night. The heli-wedding is quoted case by case.
A Photographer’s Take on The Lodge at Blue Sky
Blue Sky is a genuine five-star experience, and it’s modern western done well, down to details most places don’t bother with. The grand staircase is the first thing I’d point at. It’s a lovely spot for a first look, and it feels grandiose.
The whole affair is upscale with a little bit of bougie to it, and I mean that as a compliment.
The Arena is my favorite thing to shoot here — it’s the main ceremony and reception site, built out of the ranch’s original barn. It’s built for a huge dance party with a live band. If throwing a party is the point of your wedding, and you want photos that look like one, that’s the cherry on top.
