Red Cliffs Lodge Wedding Info & Cost

Red Cliffs Lodge sits on the bank of the Colorado River outside Moab, with 2,000 feet of red rock standing behind the ceremony and the water running in front of it.

It’s a resort rather than a rental. There are 80 suites, a restaurant, a pool, a stable next door and a film museum on the property, so the ceremony, the reception, the rehearsal dinner and the beds your guests sleep in are all in the same place, and nobody has to drive home afterward.

Red Cliffs Lodge Wedding Quick Facts

Location — Red Cliffs Lodge is at Mile Post 14 on Scenic Highway 128, on the banks of the Colorado River under 2,000-foot cliffs, about 15 miles up the canyon from town, and its own FAQ notes that the property sits outside Moab city limits even though the mailing address reads Moab, UT 84532. It’s roughly a five-hour drive from Salt Lake City International Airport.

Capacity — Red Cliffs Lodge holds up to 400 guests for a reception on the Grand Lawn and seats 350 there for a banquet dinner, which makes the lawn the largest of its five event spaces.

Cost — Red Cliffs Lodge doesn’t publish current wedding pricing, and the last figure we had from them was an $8,000 starting venue fee, in 2023, covering the ceremony and reception sites, tables, chairs and four hours of setup and breakdown staff.

Season — Weddings run year-round at Red Cliffs Lodge, which keeps a 24-hour front desk and an open hot tub through the winter, and April through October is the stretch recommended for weddings, so ask about your date if it falls outside it.

Catering — Catering at Red Cliffs Lodge is in-house, built around a customizable banquet menu the culinary team describes as fresh, locally inspired cuisine, and nothing published says whether an outside caterer is ever allowed.

Lodging — There are 80 suites at Red Cliffs Lodge across six room types, including riverside king cabins and connecting Creekside queen suites, and group rates have been available on blocks of 20 reservations or more.

Coordinator — Red Cliffs Lodge provides on-site planning support and a team that helps with the details, but it doesn’t publish a day-of coordinator role.

Accessibility — Red Cliffs Lodge has a limited number of ADA-accessible guest rooms, best booked directly with the lodge to guarantee one, and most event areas are accessible, though the lawn is uneven in places.

Pets — Pets are welcome in guest rooms at Red Cliffs Lodge, two per room, standard house pets only, at $50 per pet per night plus a $100 cleaning fee, leashed at all times, and whether a dog can be at the ceremony itself isn’t published, so ask the lodge directly.

Curfew — Quiet hours at Red Cliffs Lodge start at 10 p.m. with events ending by 11 p.m., and the property sits in unincorporated Grand County rather than Moab city.

Ceremony Sites at Red Cliffs Lodge

The ceremony site is a raised stage on the riverbank facing the red rock cliffs, with a decorative arch. Red Cliffs Lodge calls its ceremony setting the Wedding Deck on its weddings page and lists a River Deck on its capacity chart. They are almost certainly the same 3,000-square-foot riverside space, which holds up to 200, but ask which one you’re actually booking so the contract matches the tour.

The Grand Lawn is the biggest outdoor option at 6,375 square feet, with room for 400 at a reception and 350 seated for dinner. Tents have gone up on the lawn for weddings before. Red Cliffs Lodge publishes no rain plan for its outdoor spaces, so agree on the weather call and the deadline for making it before you sign.

Reception Spaces at Red Cliffs Lodge

The Colorado Room is the largest indoor space at Red Cliffs Lodge, at 3,000 square feet, with room for about 220 at a reception or 180 seated for dinner. It’s billed as the largest indoor ballroom in Grand County, with exposed wood ceilings and a fireplace.

The lodge quotes different square footage and seated counts for this room in different places on its own materials, and since the Colorado Room is the whole indoor contingency for an outdoor ceremony, that’s worth pinning down early.

The River Deck holds up to 200 for a reception or a seated dinner, with the Colorado River in front of it and the cliffs behind.

The John Wayne Room is smaller, at just over 1,000 square feet, holding about 100 theater-style or 60 for dinner, and the Board Room seats around 20. Those two suit a rehearsal dinner or a welcome gathering rather than a full reception. Altogether there are five event rooms and just under 14,000 square feet of event space at Red Cliffs Lodge.

Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics

There are 80 suites at Red Cliffs Lodge, renovated in 2025, across six room types: Riverside King Cabin, Riverside Two-Bedroom Cabin, Riverbend Two-Bedroom Signature Suite, Riverside King Suite, Creekside King Suite and Creekside Queen Suite.

The Creekside Queen suites connect, which helps if a wedding party or a family wants to get ready together. Marriott also lists private riverfront cabins bookable from March 2026, and it isn’t stated whether those sit inside the 80.

Check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m., with a 24-hour front desk. There’s no shuttle. Red Cliffs Lodge points guests to Moab Express and Moab Taxi instead, which matters at 15 miles from town when the bar closes.

The pool is seasonal, the hot tub runs year-round and the fitness center is open 24 hours.

Horseback riding is available next door at Red Cliffs Ranch for a seasonal fee, close enough to walk to the stables, and hotel guests get free admission to the Moab Museum of Film & Western Heritage on the property.

Sound baths, river rafting, skydiving and pickleball have also been part of the activity list, along with easy access to Arches and Canyonlands. Ask what’s running on your dates before you promise any of it to guests.

Catering & Vendors at Red Cliffs Lodge

Catering runs through Red Cliffs Lodge’s own culinary team, on a customizable banquet menu the lodge describes as fresh and locally inspired. Nothing published says whether an outside caterer is ever permitted, so ask early if you have someone specific in mind. There’s on-site planning support for the details, and no preferred vendor list, which in Moab means bringing your own team or asking the lodge who they like working with.

Red Cliffs Lodge has held one wedding a day and has prohibited sparklers and open flames, which matters if candles or a send-off are part of your plan.

Ember is the lodge’s own restaurant, cooking modern American food over live fire for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s a separate operation from wedding catering and a straightforward answer for a rehearsal dinner or a morning-after breakfast.

Red Cliffs Lodge Wedding Cost

Red Cliffs Lodge doesn’t publish current wedding pricing. The last figure we had from them was an $8,000 starting venue fee, in 2023, covering the ceremony and reception sites, tables, chairs and four hours of staff time for setup and breakdown, and we’re working on getting couples a current one. Pricing comes by inquiry, so call 435-259-2002 for a quote on your date.

Some guest-side costs are published even where the wedding rate isn’t. There’s a $30 nightly resort fee on stays booked from January 1, 2026 onward, parking at $20 a night or $35 for an oversized vehicle up to 25 feet, and $50 per pet per night plus a $100 cleaning fee for a dog in the room.

None of that is the wedding fee, but with a guest list sleeping on the property it lands on somebody’s card.

Dinner entrees at Ember, the lodge’s own restaurant, run about $10 to $85. That’s a separate operation from wedding catering, but it’s where a rehearsal dinner or a morning-after breakfast is likely to land.

What to Know Before You Book Red Cliffs Lodge

Red Cliffs Lodge is a Marriott Tribute Portfolio property, which means hotel systems behind the wedding: a 24-hour front desk, a room-block process, points on the stay and 80 suites that can absorb most of a guest list. The setting is desert rather than mountain or canyon, with red cliffs on one side, the Colorado River on the other, and Arches and Canyonlands close enough to build a day around.

For a couple weighing indoor against outdoor, the property covers both ends: the Grand Lawn for a large outdoor reception, the Colorado Room for the same wedding under a roof, and a riverside deck between them. What’s worth pinning down before you sign is the specific list: which deck you’re booking, the seated count for the Colorado Room, the weather call, and the end time. Those answers exist at the lodge and not on its website.
