We asked the couple to share some of their memories from their beautiful wedding day.
Why did you decide to get married at River Bottoms Ranch?
Zev grew up in Park City and Utah has a special place in our hearts. We love the mountains and wanted to share such a special place with our loved ones!
What was your favorite moment of your River Bottoms Ranch Wedding?
The fact that our loved ones were all in one place at one time.
Describe the overall mood or theme (ex: classic, color palette, modern, boho)
Minimalist boho…pops of color here and there but no overall color palette.
What were the highlights of your ceremony?
The weather was absolute perfection, it was short and sweet and not overly stressful for either of us. Having the best friend of Maya’s late grandparents speak was very meaningful because her grandparents would have loved to be at the wedding and this helped their presence be felt.
What were the highlights of your reception?
Dancing with family and friends all in one place was such a happy time. The double rainbow that appeared after a brief rain shower was so special! We also got a lot of compliments on the food which was nice to hear since we made up the menu ourselves.
Were any ethnic, religious, cultural, or family traditions included in your day?
During the ceremony, we loosely incorporated, and put a personal spin, on the seven wedding blessings traditional in a Jewish ceremony. We met on a Birthright trip in 2013, and while neither of us is religious, we have a special place in our hearts for Jewish culture and values since they brought us together years ago.
Any planning or wedding-day advice for future couples?
Don’t stress about the details. Going with the default option is totally fine. Nobody will notice or care. Focus your time and attention on the things that really mean the most to YOU.
Nobody will remember the color of your napkins or bridesmaid dresses – but you will always remember your vows and the special moments with your new spouse.
How was the overall experience of your planning? Also, the highs and lows?
Try not to overanalyze everything when planning. It can get stressful with so many vendors and options, but if you find a company/person that you really like and they’re within your budget – just book ‘em! You don’t need to research forever and hyper-fixate on perfection.
With most of our vendors having amazing social media and great reviews, we felt comfortable booking everyone from afar.
For wedding day advice – sleep in the same place as your partner the night before and go out to breakfast in the morning if time allows! You’ll feel more relaxed than following a silly tradition of sleeping apart in our opinion. We did it all remotely from the east coast – we didn’t even tour the venue or try a food menu. With most of our vendors having amazing social media and great reviews, we felt comfortable booking everyone from afar.

“From the engagement shoot to the wedding, Austen was incredible and exceeded all expectations. He was great at keeping us laughing the whole time which made the photos feel natural and kept us relaxed. For the wedding, he was a magician and was somehow everywhere at once, yet was unobtrusive, the best of both worlds. By far the best photographer you could ask for. Book him while you can!!” -Zev
“You would be crazy to go with anyone else for your wedding photography needs. Austen not only is an amazing photographer, but he helps with vendor recs, and suggestions, and overall makes you feel at ease about your wedding. He is so easy to vibe with. He also gets sh*t done – he will go above and beyond to get you the images you need. He takes command in the best way. We love you, Austen!!” -Maya
