Snowbird Wedding Info & Cost

April 3, 2023

Snowbird is known as one of Utah’s ski resorts. It also should be known as one of the state’s best wedding venues. There are so many options for couples who want to say “I do” at Snowbird. It has many ceremony and reception spots, from the top of a mountain to an alpine meadow. Whatever you want, Snowbird can make it happen.

We’ve compiled essential Snowbird wedding info and costs below.

Snowbird Wedding Info

Snowbird is one of Utah’s largest ski resorts, with multiple lodges and communal areas. Most wedding activity is centered around the Cliff and Summit Lodges. The Cliff, at the base of the mountain, has elegant dining rooms, beautiful patios, stunning meadows, and views of the resort. The Summit Lodge takes that “top of the world” feeling you have on your wedding day and puts it on display. It has 360-degree views that include Little Cottonwood Canyon, the Heber Valley, and the Salt Lake Valley as well.

Snowbird hosts weddings year-round, though it is truly stunning in the summer and early fall.

Wedding Ceremony Sites

There are several options for ceremonies at the Cliff Lodge depending on the size of your wedding and what you want.

  • The Magpie Terrace is a lovely patio where you can wed surrounded by Aspen trees.
  • The amphitheater is the other outdoor ceremony option and is a charming space surrounded by towering pine trees giving it an almost tree fort feel.
  • The Atrium Terrace is another option. Ceremonies are held on the side of Little Cottonwood Creek while guests sit in the shadow of the lodge.
  • Couples also could wed under a large white tent set on the grass outside the lodge looking down the canyon.

Both venues have indoor ceremony options in case of weather.

Wedding Reception Site

The Summit Lodge reception space is inside the building on either the first or second floor. Either space has floor-to-ceiling windows so your guests can enjoy the view all evening. There is also a large patio where they can enjoy cocktails while watching the sunset. For larger parties, the venue suggests couples and their guests dine on the upper level and have dancing on the main level.

At the Cliff Lodge, there are several reception options.

  • The Golden Cliff room is a large ballroom with balcony seating as well. It has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the resort and has plenty of room for dining and dancing.
  • The Primrose room is just off the amphitheater with large windows and a fireplace. It opens out onto a lawn where firepits can be placed for guests to roast marshmallows for s’mores.
  • Receptions can also be held in a tent on the grass in front of the lodge. If you choose this option and have your ceremony at the atrium terrace your guests can ride the ski lift between the two sites.
