Snowpine Lodge is a modern, polished ski resort wedding venue at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The remodel left it with clean lines and light wood, and it still feels like Alta. Ceremonies go outside with the mountains framing them, dinner and dancing move into the ballroom, and 54 guest rooms mean the day can run as a full wedding weekend with everyone staying on site. It’s upscale without tipping into formality.

There are two outdoor ceremony spaces. The Lawn seats up to 100 theatre-style, and The Terrace can be sized to the group. A trellis is set up on The Lawn for ceremonies.
If the weather turns, the ceremony moves into the Snowpine Ballroom.
The town of Alta requires outdoor noise to end at 11 p.m.
Reception Spaces at Snowpine Lodge
The Snowpine Ballroom is the biggest room at 3,450 square feet, seating 175 for a banquet dinner or holding 200 standing. It has floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors and a balcony that brings the outdoors in. Tables, chairs and linens are included in the event rental.
Swen’s Restaurant is the smaller option, seating 75 for a banquet.
Across the property there’s more than 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, and couples who want the whole lodge to themselves can book a full buyout. No buyout price is published.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
There’s a private bridal suite for the bride and her party, and a separate game room for the groom and his.
Check-in is 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 10:00 a.m., with a late check-out available on request. That check-out time is worth knowing if you want a slow morning after the wedding.
There’s a full-service spa and an outdoor pool on site, and dining options include Swen’s Restaurant and the Gulch Pub.
There’s a complimentary shuttle to Snowbird Resort.
Catering & Vendors at Snowpine Lodge
Snowpine Lodge’s own food and beverage team caters every wedding. The one exception is the cake, and there’s no outside catering option.
The wedding specialists refer florists, photographers, rental companies and bridal consultants. Whether any of those referrals are required rather than suggested isn’t published, so confirm it with the venue before you book anyone.
Snowpine Lodge Wedding Cost
Snowpine Lodge doesn’t publish wedding pricing on its site. The last figure we had from them, in 2023, was a $5,000 starting fee, and we’re working on getting couples a current number. One wedding directory estimates full events between $3,000 and $6,000, which is that directory’s own calculated range rather than a figure from the lodge.
There is a venue rental fee. Snowpine confirms it in the terms of a referral offer that takes $2,000 off the rental for weddings held before December 31, 2026, though the amount of the fee itself isn’t published.
Two costs the lodge does publish sit outside the wedding itself. Rooms carry a nightly resort fee of $25 from May through October and $50 from November through April, and valet parking runs $25 a night in summer and $55 in winter.
Guest room rates have run $250 to $500 a night, and a room block for the wedding weekend has required a minimum stay of 2 to 3 nights; confirm both with the venue since rates change.
Because Snowpine’s own kitchen caters everything but the cake, one conversation with the venue covers the site and the food together. Dinner pricing comes back with the menus, by request.
A Photographer’s Take on Snowpine Lodge
The renovations are what make Snowpine feel modern at a classic ski area like Alta. The lodge has clean, beautiful lines and an oaky ballroom, with indoor-outdoor space that feels like you could be having a Park City wedding.
Inside, during the dancing, Snowpine is one of the few places where I’d say uplighting and light design actually pay dividends. They add depth and dimension to a room that otherwise becomes a dark cave once the dance party starts. It’s worth the line item here in a way it isn’t everywhere.
Snowpine feels slightly more refined while staying classically elegant. I wouldn’t use a word like rustic or charming for it. It’s more stately than that.
