Solitude Mountain Resort Wedding Info
Nestled in the mountains of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Solitude Mountain Resort is one of my favorite wedding venues. It has charm, incredible views, and top-notch service.
Solitude Mountain Resort hosts indoor and outdoor weddings and receptions from June to September. There’s everything from an intimate, rustic lodge to a spacious, elegant ceremony hall. On-site accomodations make it easy to keep your wedding party and guests all in one place.
Often couples will book multiple sites for their day. This helps to create a seamless flow from an outdoor ceremony to cocktail hour to inside dinner and reception.
Wedding Ceremony and Reception Sites
Wedding couples often have their wedding ceremony at the Inn Lawn or Moonbeam Lawn. I absolutely love these outdoor ceremony sites at Solitude. A full list of ceremony sites follows:
- The Inn Lawn
- The Pond
- LCMC Lawn
- Moonbeam Patio
- Roundhouse Lawn
If the ceremony is at the Inn, most people have their reception either at LCMC Lodge (larger party) or St. Bernard’s (smaller party). Usually Moonbeam weddings stay on site and move indoors to Moonbeam Lodge. A full list of reception sites follows:
- Moonbeam Lodge
- LCMC Lodge
- St. Bernard’s
Solitude can host up to 300 people. There is a minimum of 25 guests required to book.
Solitude Mountain Resort is located in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It’s only 40 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport.
Weddings per Day
Solitude Mountain Resort can host up to two weddings per day. Because of the layout of the resort, you will most likely not see the other wedding.
Time and Noise Restrictions
The Moonbeam Lodge has a curfew of 11 p.m. The LCMC Lodge has a curfew of 11 p.m. All other locations have a 10 p.m. curfew.

Solitude offers countless attractions within the resort. During the summer, Solitude’s Sunrise Chairlift runs on the weekends from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with access to hiking, mountain biking, and a disc golf. During the winter, guests can explore some of the best skiing in Utah. For those guests looking to relax and unwind, Solitude also offers an onsite spa.

Ceremony and reception venue costs are dependent on the specific site and date. The base ceremony fee is $1,000. Saturday venue fees start at $4,000. non-Saturday venue fees start at $2,500.
Rehearsal dinners can be held at any of Solitude’s restaurants or a private space may rented. The average rehearsal dinner, accommodating about 30 guests, costs $1,500.
Wedding Catering and Lodging
Solitude is a one-stop shop for wedding catering and lodging.
All food and beverage must be provided by Solitude Resort, except for the wedding cake.

Solitude can bake a personalized one-tier white-frosted cake for the “cake cutting.” They’ll also make sponge cake, chocolate, or white-frosted sheet cake or cupcakes to serve to guests.
Lodging (On-site or Nearby)
The resort offers a multitude of lodging options, including hotel rooms, condominiums, townhomes, and private homes.
All wedding guests receive a discount on any Solitude lodging. Guests receive complimentary WiFi, parking, and access to Club Solitude amenities and activities.
In-house Wedding Planner and Day-of Coordinator
Solitude provides an event coordinator to navigate your many choices. They help help build a day-of timeline, design event layout, and coordinate with outside vendors. You’ll also have a day-of coordinator on site. The team at Solitude are among the best in the business; you will be in good hands.
Couples are welcome to hire an additional wedding planner if they desire, but this is usually not needed here.
