Reception Spaces at Solitude Mountain Resort
St. Bernard’s, Moonbeam Lodge, Last Chance Lodge and the Roundhouse all work as reception spaces, and all 4 are ski-lodge interiors in the traditional sense: exposed beams, rock fireplaces, big windows. Each has outdoor space as well, with tables and chairs set on the lawns and a large patio off the main lodge building at Moonbeam.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
There are rooms at Solitude set aside for wedding-day prep, and you can book an additional room at the resort if you want more space.
Guests can stay on the property, from the 46-room Inn at Solitude to condos, townhomes and private homes in the village. Every room comes with access to Club Solitude, which has an outdoor heated pool, a hot tub, a sauna and a fitness center.
One thing to know before you reserve rooms: the Inn at Solitude has no air conditioning, which the resort puts down to the alpine climate. Check-in at the Inn is 4 p.m. and check-out is noon.
Wedding guests get a discount on lodging booked around the wedding. The figure Solitude gives couples is 20% off stays of 2 nights or more, and it separately puts the lodging discount for special-event bookings at 10%, so confirm which one applies when you reserve.
Solitude holds as many as 2 weddings in a day, scheduled so the 2 celebrations don’t cross paths.

Catering at Solitude is exclusive to the resort’s own kitchen, so bringing in an outside caterer isn’t an option. The team builds a custom menu, and they say they’ll work a family recipe into it if you bring one to the table.

Solitude Mountain Resort Wedding Cost
Solitude doesn’t publish its wedding rates publicly. The last full pricing we have, current as of 2023, put the Inn Lawn and St. Bernard’s at $1,500 Monday through Thursday and $2,500 Friday through Sunday, with a $3,000 food and beverage minimum.
The Roundhouse was $9,000 any day of the week, with a $6,000 minimum. We’re working on getting couples a current number.

Every wedding at Solitude includes the ceremony site, chairs, tables, a sound system, a dance floor, linens, tableware, a tent if conditions call for one, 2 fire pits and access to a coordinator.
Booking a wedding also comes with a lodging discount for your guests. Separately, Solitude’s spa sells a bridal package at $1,700: private access for 3 hours with up to 10 60-minute treatments.
A Photographer’s Take on Solitude Mountain Resort
Solitude is the resort where I fell in love with skiing in Utah, more than a decade ago now, and it still holds a place for me that has nothing to do with work. I think that shows up in what I shoot here.
The useful thing about Solitude is the range. St. Bernard’s and the lawn at the end of it will handle a genuinely small, intimate wedding, and that isn’t true everywhere. Some of the other ski resorts I work are built for mid-size to large weddings instead.
Then Solitude scales the other way at Moonbeam, at the Roundhouse or at Last Chance Lodge, and any of those is a good option. All of them feel like you’re rooted in a ski lodge at a classic ski resort, which is the reason to get married at one in the first place.
If I had to pick, I’d say it’s worth getting married at the Roundhouse. The views from the ceremony site are epic, especially the one right off the Moonbeam lift. At most ski resorts you get married at the base of the canyon, down by the lodge. Here you’re actually up on the mountain, and it gives you bigger, wider vistas and better light to work with at sunset.
I’ve shot weddings here in several different versions. The one I keep coming back to is guests eating outside under twinkly lights with the sun going down. It feels secluded and particular to this place without giving up good food or a real party.
