This Is The Place Heritage Park is a historical monument marking the location of Brigham Young’s settler’s first glimpse of the Salt Lake Valley.
This Is The Place Heritage Park is a short 20 minute drive from Salt Lake International Airport.
This Is The Place is a live-history park offering an abundance of activities with multiple pavillions, a historic main street, carriage rides, wagon rides and trains that circle the park.

> The Garden Place rental fees range from $2,295 – $4,445 and vary based on the day and time. Ceremonies are an additional $100.
> Rental fees range from $595 – $2,045 for other venues on location.
> Rehearsal dinners are $250 (for two hours) and subject to venue availability.
This Is The Place Heritage Park hosts weddings year round with both indoor and outdoor venues.
> The Garden Place is the most commonly used large venue and offers an easily-accessed and versatile space.
> Brigham Young Farmhouse, Kimball Home, Smoot Hall, Atkin Home, Pack Home, Ottinger Hall and Pine Valley Chapel are additional venues. Please contact the event staff for specific information.
> Please note that tents are not offered as weather backup for outdoor venues.
The Garden Place can accommodate 200 guests outside and 350 guests inside.
Weddings per Day
> The Garden Place may host two weddings per day, one in the morning (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and one in the evening (3 p.m. – 10 p.m.).
> Additional venues within the park may also host weddings.
Time and Noise Restrictions
All events end at 11 p.m.
The Garden Place is entirely wheelchair accessible. Please contact the staff to discuss accessibility for various other locations.
Pets are allowed on leash for the ceremony only.
Wedding Catering and Lodging
This Is The Place Heritage Park offers couples and guests thoughtful recommendations on catering, lodging and more.
> This Is the Place has a preferred vendor list, including caterers, for couples to select from.
> If a caterer not on the preferred list is used, there is at $395 fee.
> Alcohol is allowed, but must be served by a bartender on their preferred vendor list or one that is affiliated with one of their caterers.
> There are no restrictions on wedding cakes.

> This Is The Place Heritage Park recommends Salt Lake City Marriott University Park (less than five minutes away).
> Downtown Salt Lake City also offers a multitude of additional lodging options.
This Is The Place Heritage Park is continuously adding new park features. Guests can learn more about mining at Treasure House, ride through the park on one of three historic replica trains and explore the newly opened Native American Village.
> Venue rental prices include tables and chairs.
> Outside lighting vendors are allowed to help create the couple’s preferred ambiance.
In-house Wedding Planner and Day-of Coordinator
> A day-of coordinator and park liason is provided.
> Couples also have the option to hire an additional wedding planner and can refer to the park’s preferred vendor list for recommendations.
