This Is The Place Heritage Park is located in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, minutes away from downtown Salt Lake City. With its historical attractions, era-specific buildings, and beautiful vistas, it’s a unique destination for wedding celebrations of all sizes.

This Is The Place Heritage Park hosts weddings year round at both indoor and outdoor venues.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception Sites and Capacity

The Garden Place is the most commonly used venue. It’s a gorgeous and versatile space. It can accommodate 200 guests outside and 350 guests inside.

The other venues and their capacities are listed below:

  • Kimball Home — 100 inside; 80 outside
  • Atkin Home — 40 inside; 120 outside
  • Smoot Hall — 96 inside
  • Pioneer Pavillion — 290 outside
  • Pine Valley Chapel — 120 inside (pews)
  • Pack Home — 72 inside; 48 outside
  • Ottinger Hall — 96 inside; 48 outside
  • Miller Pavilion — 120 outside

Please note that tents are not offered as weather backup for outdoor venues.

Location

This Is The Place Heritage Park is a short 20-minute drive from Salt Lake International Airport.

Weddings per Day

The Garden Place can host two weddings per day, one in the morning (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and one in the evening (3 p.m. – 10 p.m.).

The other venues within the park may host weddings on the same date as yours.

Time and Noise Restrictions

All events must end at 11 p.m.

Accessibility

The Garden Place is wheelchair accessible. Please contact the staff to discuss accessibility for the other locations.

Pet Policy

Pets are allowed on leash for the ceremony only.

This Is the Place Heritage Park Wedding Costs 

The Garden Place rental fees range from $2,595 – $4,295 and vary based on the day of the week and time.

For all other historical buildings, rental fees range from $295 – $2,995 and vary based on day of the week and time.

Rehearsal dinners are $250 (for two hours) and subject to venue availability.

Wedding Catering and Lodging 

Catering Options

This Is the Place has a preferred vendor list, including caterers, for couples to select from. The venue does not offer catering themselves.

If you use a caterer not on the preferred vendor list, there is at $395 fee for The Garden Place. There’s a $195 – $295 fee for all other buildings.

Alcohol is allowed, but must be served by a bartender on their preferred vendor list or one that is affiliated with your caterer.

There are no restrictions on wedding cakes.

Lodging (On-site or Nearby)

This Is The Place Heritage Park recommends Salt Lake City Marriott University Park. This hotel is less than five minutes away.

Guests can find an abundance of lodging options in downtown Salt Lake City.

Nearby Attractions

This Is The Place is a live-history park with many family-friendly activities. These include a historic main street, carriage rides, and a train that circle the park. What’s more, there’s mining at Treasure House and hands-on learning in the Native American Village.

Booking Bonuses

Venue rental prices include tables and chairs.

Outside lighting vendors are allowed to help create the couple’s preferred ambiance.

In-house Wedding Planner and Day-of Coordinator

A day-of coordinator and park liaison is provided.

Couples can hire an additional wedding planner for a seamless day.
