Timber Moose Lodge is genuinely one of a kind. It’s billed as the largest private log cabin in America, and it sits on 12 wooded acres in the mountains above Heber City with its decks pointed out over Heritage Lake.
Most venues give you a few hours. This one gives you a few days, because your wedding party and your closest family sleep in the building. It’s at its best in the fall, when the aspens go gold around the property.

The 12 acres above Heritage Lake give you a few places to hold a ceremony, and Timber Moose Lodge doesn’t name or number them.
Winter weddings move indoors, so a December date doesn’t cost you the ceremony.
Reception Spaces at Timber Moose Lodge
The Grand Room is the main indoor reception space, about 2,000 square feet, and it seats 100 for a banquet dinner.
Past it there’s more than 5,000 square feet of gathering space: a Gathering Room, a Dining Room and a Game Room at 625 square feet each, a 480-square-foot entry, a 320-square-foot Sitting Room, a 260-square-foot Sun Room, and the Crows Nest, a 170-square-foot observation room 50 feet above Timber Moose Ridge. Outside there are 9,300 square feet of decks and balconies.
There’s also a 22-by-50-foot indoor pool heated to 87 degrees, 7 fireplaces, and grass volleyball and basketball courts. Parking fits 20 to 30 vehicles, and the WiFi is built to carry a full house.
Timber Moose has also had 2 game rooms, an inflatable bounce house and a dry sauna.
Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics
Timber Moose Lodge sleeps 58 overnight guests across 13 bedrooms, with 24 beds and 7 sleeper sofas, and there are 17 bathrooms, 13 full and 4 half.
Timber Moose Lodge has said it rents to one group at a time and doesn’t book rooms individually, so whoever books it gets the whole property.
There’s a meal service for guests staying over, plus grocery and delivery services, which matters more than it sounds when you have 58 people on a mountain for 3 days.

There’s no exclusive caterer and no vendor you’re required to use. Timber Moose Lodge keeps a list of vendors past couples have recommended, and you can ignore it.
Timber Moose Lodge Wedding Cost
Wedding Event Fees at Timber Moose Lodge scale with guest count and the day of the week.
For 50 guests or fewer it’s $2,500 Monday through Thursday or $4,500 Friday through Sunday. For 51 to 75 guests it’s $3,500 or $5,500. For 76 to 100 guests it’s $4,000 or $6,000. For 101 to 125 guests it’s $5,000 or $6,500. For 126 to 150 guests it’s $6,000 or $7,500.
That fee covers tables, chairs, tablecloths, the venue’s decorations and a Wedding Host on the day of your ceremony. On top of it there’s a $895 cleaning fee, a $2,000 security deposit, and $100 to $500 for alcohol depending on what you’re serving. Booking takes a 30% deposit, with the other 70% due 90 days out.
Alcohol carries its own fee: $100 for beer and wine, $200 for beer, wine and liquor, and $500 for an open bar, which requires a licensed bartender.
Banquet tables and chairs with tablecloth selection also appear as a separate $400 add-on, so ask what your fee already covers before you buy it twice.
The overnight stay is booked separately from the wedding fee, and Timber Moose Lodge doesn’t publish a nightly rate. The last published figure was $4,000 to $5,800 a night depending on the day, in 2023, and we’re working on getting couples a current one.
The Knot shows a $12,000 starting price, but that’s their own listing figure rather than a number from the venue, and it doesn’t say what it includes.
A Photographer’s Take on Timber Moose Lodge
Timber Moose is great in the summer. In the fall it’s a different thing entirely. If you can time your date to the aspens turning gold, you end up at a Utah venue that has no real comparison, with the whole property sitting inside the color.
For photographs I use the main deck, the rooftop and a couple of the side gardens. The rooftop is where I’d put a private dance or a blue hour set. The side gardens are hidden gems, and every time I shoot in them it feels like nobody has ever taken a picture there before. Golden hour on this property is worth building the timeline around.
Inside, there are wood carvings and taxidermy, and that character is specific to this place. It doesn’t look like anywhere else I shoot in Utah.
