The Grand Lawn is the biggest space on the property: 4,000 square feet, seating 200 for a banquet or 220 for a reception, looking out at the mountains. It’s seasonal, grouped with the Pergolas, Frostwood Terrace and the Fire Feature as the venue’s warm-weather outdoor spaces.

The weddings page also names a Back Lawn Ceremony with no capacity attached, and nothing published settles whether that’s the Grand Lawn under a second name, so ask which lawn you’re actually booking when you tour.

Indoors, ceremonies have been held in the Grand Lobby, which has a spiral staircase entrance, marble floors, a fireplace and a crystal chandelier overhead, and seats up to 60. The property’s current published space list doesn’t carry a room by that name, so confirm availability with the venue when you tour.

The Presidential Suite takes up the sixth floor and is built around a commercial-grade exhibition kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows that give it a cathedral-like feel; its Presidential A salon holds 80 for a banquet or 90 for a reception. Frostwood sits on the main lobby level, pairs natural light with dark wood, and holds up to 60.

Reception Spaces at Waldorf Astoria Park City

Every ceremony site here also works for a reception, and several rooms are reception-only. The Grand Lawn can be tented with a dance floor.

Powder Wine Room and Empire each seat 32 for a banquet, at 580 and 550 square feet. Frostwood Terrace holds 32 seated or 40 standing across 552 square feet, and the Pergolas hold the same numbers across 1,750 square feet. The Fire Feature is reception-only, 30 people, 625 square feet.

Parley’s Boardroom and Thaynes Boardroom appear on the same space chart but publish no banquet or reception capacity. They’re conference rooms rather than wedding rooms.

Getting Ready, Lodging & Guest Logistics

There are more than 100 guest rooms and suites on site, including one- to four-bedroom residences with kitchens. A multi-bedroom residence makes a workable getting-ready space, with separate rooms, daylight and a kitchen in one unit.

The hotel has also offered a complimentary bridal suite for the day of the wedding, and a custom wedding webpage where guests can book their own rooms against your block. Check-in has been listed at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.; 11 a.m. is early for guests coming off a late reception, so build that into the weekend timeline.

The spa covers 15,000 square feet across 16 treatment rooms and has offered discounts to wedding parties. There’s a heated pool open year-round with hot tubs, and in-room dining runs 24 hours off the Powder menu, with poolside dining seasonal.

Guests can walk to the Frostwood Gondola, which the hotel says typically runs December through April into Park City Mountain’s 7,300 acres. A complimentary shuttle runs to Deer Valley Resort. More rooms are available nearby at Canyons Village, at the base of Park City Mountain.

Waldorf Astoria Park City has held to one wedding a day, and has listed a 10 p.m. curfew for music.

Catering is handled in house, from passed appetizers to buffets and sit-down dinners, and linens, chairs, tables, votive candles, flatware and tableware come with it. No policy either way is published on outside catering, so ask the venue directly whether it’s ever permitted.

On planning, the venue’s site says “an on-property expert will be by your side from the first stages of planning to the finishing touches.” That person works for the hotel and runs the hotel’s side of the day, which is a different job from a wedding planner running yours. Couples who want the second one hire it separately.

There’s no published food and beverage minimum, service charge or per-person rate either. At a hotel this size the real number comes back as a proposal built around a minimum the sales office sets against your date and your headcount, which means the quote is a phone call rather than a price list.

Ask for the minimum in writing, ask whether service charge and tax count toward it, and ask for the rental fee on whichever ceremony space you want.

Price the guest room block separately. At a ski hotel it’s often the largest line in the whole wedding budget and it runs on its own contract.

A Photographer’s Take on Waldorf Astoria Park City

I typically don’t shoot and deliver photos in black and white. The black-and-white marble at the indoor ceremony site, under a grand chandelier, oozes the classic monochromatic look anyway. Even in color it feels like a mix of Old World elegance and mountain polish.

There aren’t a lot of great spots outdoors for photos. What you get instead is decor: people who get married at the Waldorf generally go all out, and between that and the architecture there’s plenty to work with indoors.
